Replacing spreadsheet-driven billing for rural water committees with an automated, multi-tenant platform.
The challenge
Rural water committees and small community associations in Chile relied on manual, spreadsheet-based processes to track water consumption and issue member invoices — a slow, error-prone workflow with no visibility into consumption trends or payment status.
What we built
A multi-tenant SaaS platform that lets multiple committees operate independently on shared infrastructure, each with fully isolated data and access control. Designed, built, and deployed solo, end-to-end, in 8 weeks:
Automated invoice generation based on metered consumption, with 12-month historical trend charts and anomaly flagging for unusual usage
Tenant-based authentication and access control (Firebase Auth)
Integrated online payment collection through a local payment gateway (Flow.cl)
Admin panel for committee administrators to manage members, review consumption, and track payment status
The outcome
Live in production, currently serving a rural water committee in Chile, replacing manual billing with an automated, auditable system for consumption tracking and invoicing.
